Last year, it was clear that providers in our rural communities were interested in how to care for families and adolescents struggling with addiction. We wanted to create a space separate from our families to allow providers to get the most out of this content while protecting the families in this process, too. This is that content and we are so excited to welcome you! The session will run on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include snacks, refreshments, and a lunch break. The counselors leading the workshops have extensive experience working with juveniles and families in complicated situations (including the juvenile detention systems), often deeply impacted by addiction and mental health-related issues. Their content is practical, applicable and easily adapted in many circumstances. Please use the questions section of the registration process to indicate any specific circumstances for which you would like help or resources.
The Addiction Support Workshops are designed to help parents and caregivers who are seeking to care for kids (adolescents) suffering with addiction. Each workshop will run in two parts. Friday evening and Saturday morning. This format allows time for processing and will include a little homework to help each participant get the most out of the workshop. Please plan to attend both sessions. Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dinner will be provided. At the end of the session, you will be given a little homework designed to help you apply the information presented to your situation, creating an opportunity to ask more questions and further apply the pieces that are useful to you and your situation in the end. Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (NOON). Breakfast snacks will be provided. If you do not live within reasonable driving distance, please plan to book lodging.…
