Staying Fit on the Farm or Ranch…
When life can feel so overwhelming.
As farmers and ranchers, it’s easy to shrug off physical fitness. We’re on our feet all day, right? Our jobs are physical, nonstop, and require constant movement. But did you know that…
- Repetitive movements, like the ones often performed in farm/ranch work are a frequent cause of injury?
- Cross-training and doing different types of exercise can increase strength and flexibility, reducing the change of injury?
- Doing some sort of physical movement that is NOT related to work can boost well-being, and serve as a positive influence on mental health?
Elite CrossFitter Tayler Sykes grew up ranching with her family in Walden, Colorado. Currently ranked 120th among all women in North America, Tayler is training with the goal of qualifying at the worldwide level CrossFit Games. She credits her experience growing up on a cattle ranch with giving her much of the grit, determination, and strength that she possesses today. Check her out in two of the places she calls home
